More surprisingly, there were only 230 medical malpractice cases filed in 2006 out of a total 235,573 cases filed. Who is the biggest offender 'plugging up' our court system? Debt collectors, who filed a whopping 55,719 cases in 2006. Clearly, our court system has been hijacked by corporations when they file more actions than the government does in prosecuting criminals.
